Hey guys, Happy Halloween

Hope we all enjoyed the Egg Drop project, remember that your Engineering report must be on EACH team members portfolio site.  This is the only way you will be graded on the report, and it needs to be on there TODAY (Monday, Oct.31st)

I realize that many of you have CDAT projects due this week, so we will be giving you an opportunity to work on and finalize them this week.

Those of you working on Science fair and Capstone should be using your time wisely to work on those.

I'll be coming around and visiting you to check your progress, and you will be getting a grade for your use of technology and your use of time in class.

3 Simple grades for your CDAT Project:

  • 90 for being almost complete and just finishing touches on your project                                                                                            (Science Fair / Capstone should have a good start and clear path to completion)
  • 75 for having something, but a way to go for your project to be completed                                                                                       (Science Fair /Capstone just an idea with little to no progress towards completion )
  • 0 for absolutely nothing.

Remember, EVERYONE on your team needs access to your materials, and they should be readily available on your team site.
This has been repeatedly stated to you and "My team member has it and hasn't shared" is NOT an acceptable excuse.

Ok, we've talked about the SREB project where you must find a way to charge a cell phone with a very limited amount of supplies.

First we need to review some things about electricity, so that what we are going to do for the next couple of weeks.

We will then move a little deeper into how electricity works

Resistance is futile........Learn about resistors here Resistors

You have the capacity to learn about Capacitors!

Then you can test you knowledge with:

And finally, what you can build with these various components What is a Circuit?

For those of you that would like to take a crack at making a circuit
try How to use a Breadboard  (not our version, but close enough to get the gist)

Check back here for more links as we progress through the next few weeks
